‘Hidro-Bricks’ Workshop for Mayrit Bienal 2022, Madrid

The workshop was designed with the aim of addressing the challenges posed by an uncertain hydrological future. The main focus was on exploring innovative ways to prepare for a future where water is scarce due to the increasing unpredic-tability of the water cycle caused by climate change. Through design practice, we sought to raise awareness and collectively imagine new horizons.

During the workshop, participants used leftover ceramic pieces provided by Cerámica Cumella, a company that specializes in producing ceramic pieces for architecture. The objective was to consider the use of materials in the context of the water cycle, and how to create sustainable and adaptable solutions for chan-ging conditions. The workshop likely involved hands-on experimentation and exploration of new techniques and approaches for building with ceramics. As a result, a collective installation was created, which established a closed water circuit.
